Its features include WYSIWYG editors, a front end CSS editor, file manager, image resizing capabilities, support for meta tags for advertising, template editor and W3C conforming front end rendering. The best part is that this can be used even if you are using Windows, Mac or Linux. 4. EzContents is another option. It also uses PHP and MySQL. Having this in your computer allows you to write create a layout then write content, manage permissions and workflow. Best of all, it can be used with or without frames. 5. phpCMS just like the others includes features such as dynamic menus, file manager, full text search engine, online editor and a lot more. This will be very useful if the person is working with flat files. Open medium CMS is another freeware program that will require you to install PHP and MySQL in your computer. It has similar features to the others mentioned and is released under the GNU general public license. As you can see, most of the open source PHP based CMS will only run if you have MySQL. This does not mean that this is the only one around because there are others that can be accessed using a different database. If you are a programmer, you can even create a PHP CMS by yourself. But if there is one that can do the job for you, why bother? Someone already went to all the trouble so you can enjoy using it.
